My Perspective (as a granddaughter)
For me, this whole situation has changed my life. It has been hard to see my grandma slowly fade away. It seems like yesterday that we would sit and play cards and she would let me help her cook. I always looked forward to our visits - we could sit and talk for hours. I guess the hardest part is that the grandma that I knew is gone, but her body is still here. It is also painful to watch my grandpa and mom and aunts lose their wife, mom, and best friend this way. It scares me that my mom has the possbility of developing AD as well. I can't imagine going through this twice. Right now, it is important to take each day as it comes and enjoy Grandma while she is still here.
